4 Ways To Ensure That Your Teeth Stay White

Priscilla Hansen

If you want to have a really great-looking smile, there are various lifestyle steps you can take to ensure that your teeth stay as white as possible. There are lots of steps you can take to make sure that you keep your pearly whites really great.

Stay Away from Energy Drinks

To start with, you need to stay away from energy drinks. Energy drinks are not good for your body, and they are definitely are not good for your teeth. Energy drinks contain acid that can eat away at the enamel on your teeth, weakening their protection, and leading to teeth that are far from white. If you need some energy, try to eat some nuts or drink some natural tea. Stay away from energy drinks that harm your teeth.

Get Rid of Your Old Toothbrush

Don't keep using the same old toothbrush. Your toothbrush is designed to last for a few months, not for a year or more at a time. If you have had your toothbrush for more than three months, throw it out and get a new one. If you have an electrical toothbrush, it's time to switch out the head of your toothbrush.

When your toothbrush starts to break down, it can't clean your teeth properly. If your teeth are not being cleaned properly, you are not going to get them clean or protect your enamel. Don't just brush your teeth—make sure that you are brushing your teeth with a toothbrush that works.

Rinse After Consuming Citrus

You don't have to entirely cut citrus out of your diet, but you need to be careful with the fruit. Citrus has acid, which can eat away at the enamel on your teeth. When your enamel wears down, your teeth can stain much easier.

When you enjoy citrus fruit, rinse your mouth out with water after you eat to get the acid off your teeth.

Clean Your Tongue

When you brush your teeth, you need to be brushing your entire mouth, including your gum and your tongue. Bacteria can actually live and breed on your tongue, which can have a negative impact on your dental health and your ability to keep your teeth looking clean and great. Make sure to brush your tongue when you brush your teeth every morning and evening.

Teeth whitening is not just about using a teeth bleaching kit. It is about taking care of the enamel on your teeth and it is about ensuring that you are engaging in healthy habits, such as using a new toothbrush, cleaning your tongue, avoiding energy drinks, and rinsing your mouth with water after consuming citrus, which will protect the health of your teeth in the long run and keep them white and looking great.
